Paris is the county seat of Henry County, Tennessee. It is near the shore of Kentucky Lake and the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. Between about 1970 and 1990, Paris became the center of the Old Beachy Amish. Beachy Amish from different regions moved there to maintain their traditional ways. Because of internal conflicts, most Old Beachy Amish left the region in the early 1990s and had completely vacated it by 2000. Local companies manufacture brakes, small electric motors, aftermarket auto parts, metal doors, rubber parts and school laboratory furniture.

See waterfowl and a range of forested and open water landscapes along the Kentucky River. The visitor center at this address is a good place to start. (updated Apr 2025) 4 Patsy Cline Memorial, 2082 Mt Carmel Rd, Camden. Marks the site where the country western star and several of her contemporaries perished in a plane crash in 1963. World's Biggest Fish Fry, [email protected]. A week long festival celebrating the local recreational fishing industry and culminating with an all you can eat catfish fry. Occurs during the last week of April. (updated Aug 2023) 1 Krider Performing Arts Center, 650 Volunteer Dr. Music and comedy. Also organizes summer concerts in Eiffel Tower Park. In spite of the somewhat galling name, this park offers the opportunity to experience Kentucky Lake and the Tennessee River Folklife Interpretive Center. It is named after a Confederate general who became the first Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan. Camping and cabins are available. (updated Jul 2026)
