Terms of Use

Last updated: April 13, 2026

These Terms of Use apply to your use of US Trip Planner, including our trip pages, planner, compare tools, map views, GPX exports, account features, contact form, and route feedback tools. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

What US Trip Planner Provides

US Trip Planner is an informational road trip planning service focused on routes in the United States. We publish route pages, drive-time estimates, fuel-cost estimates, climate summaries, elevation profiles, stop suggestions, transit comparisons, and related travel planning content.

This content is provided to help you research a trip, not to replace your own judgment. Road closures, weather, traffic, wildfire conditions, transit availability, hotel pricing, map data, and local rules can change quickly.

Estimates and Travel Decisions

Route times, fuel budgets, weather summaries, drive scores, and comparison figures on US Trip Planner are estimates built from third-party and public datasets. They may be incomplete, delayed, or wrong for your specific trip.

You should independently confirm anything material before you travel, including navigation, weather, fire activity, ferry or transit schedules, lodging, tolls, safety conditions, and vehicle suitability.

US Trip Planner does not provide emergency, legal, insurance, mechanical, or professional transportation advice.

Accounts and Security

Some features may require an account. If you create one, you agree to provide accurate information, keep your login credentials confidential, and accept responsibility for activity that occurs through your account.

We may suspend or limit access to accounts or features if we reasonably believe they are being used abusively, unlawfully, or in a way that threatens the service or other users.

Route Tips, Votes, and Other User Submissions

If you submit a route tip, comment, vote, contact message, or other content, you are responsible for what you send. Do not submit illegal material, spam, defamatory content, infringing material, personal data about other people without permission, or anything harmful or misleading.

Route tips and comments may be displayed publicly on the site. By submitting them, you give US Trip Planner a non-exclusive right to store, moderate, reproduce, and display that content as part of the service.

We may review, remove, edit, or refuse user submissions at our discretion, including for moderation, safety, legal, or quality reasons.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • use the site for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes;
  • interfere with the normal operation or security of the service;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data;
  • submit automated spam, mass requests, or abusive scraping that degrades the service;
  • misrepresent US Trip Planner data as real-time, guaranteed, or professionally certified information.

Third-Party Services and Links

US Trip Planner relies on third-party services and datasets to operate parts of the site, including map libraries, map tiles, route data, public travel datasets, and outbound navigation or booking links.

Some pages may link you to third-party services such as Google Maps, Waze, Apple Maps, or Booking.com. When you leave US Trip Planner or load third-party assets, their own terms and privacy policies apply. We are not responsible for third-party content, availability, pricing, or policies.

Booking.com links on applicable pages may include an affiliate identifier. That helps support US Trip Planner, but it does not change our route analysis or editorial recommendations.

Intellectual Property

The US Trip Planner website, branding, page design, original copy, original software, and original compilations are owned by or licensed to US Trip Planner and its operator, except where third-party rights apply.

Public datasets, map data, images, and other third-party materials remain subject to their own licenses and rights.

Availability, Changes, and No Warranty

We may update, suspend, or discontinue any part of US Trip Planner at any time, including features, route coverage, account functionality, or data sources.

US Trip Planner is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, US Trip Planner and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the service.

This includes losses related to routing mistakes, missed schedules, weather changes, lodging decisions, fuel costs, map errors, third-party services, data delays, device issues, or user-submitted content.
