Norwich is a city of 3,600 people (2020) in eastern Vermont across the Connecticut River from Hanover, New Hampshire. It is commuter town for nearby Hanover, New Hampshire, across the Connecticut River, and is home to some of the state of Vermont's wealthiest residents. The town contains the Norwich Mid-Century Modern Historic District.

Hike. The Appalachian Trail passes right through downtown Norwich. There are also a number of shorter trails in the town. From New York (about 5 hours), southern New England and points south Take I-91 N to Exit 13. Continue as above. Cape Air flies to Lebanon Regional Airport (LEB IATA) from Boston. Other alternatives are Manchester (New Hampshire) and Burlington (Vermont), both about 1.5 hours away by car; or Logan International in Boston or Bradley International in Windsor Locks, both about 2.5 hours away.
