Lynnwood is a suburban city of 39,000 people (2019) in the North Sound region of Washington State. As it as at the crossroads of I-5 and I-405, it is a bedroom community for Seattle, Everett and Bellevue, and has one of the largest concentrations of retailers in the region, anchored by the Alderwood Mall.

The I-5 interchange with Interstate 405 (I-405) and State Route 525 (WA-525) is just north of city limits. Lynnwood is the north terminus of the Link light rail 1 and 2 Lines, at 1 Lynnwood City Center Station, 20201 46th Ave W. (updated Dec 2025) Adult fares are a flat $3.00, regardless of distance; children 18 and under ride for free. A train runs every 8-15 minutes from 5:00 to midnight. All trains come from Shoreline, Northgate, University of Washington, Capitol Hill and Downtown to the south after splitting at International District/Chinatown: The 1 Line from Downtown Federal Way to the south, via Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Tukwila and South Seattle. Has regional public transit routes in King County (hubs in Bellevue and Seattle), Snohomish County (hubs in Everett and Lynnwood), and Pierce County.
