Guided mansion tours offered Memorial Day weekend through October 31st, and the Billings Farm & Museum opens a week or two earlier. The park has over 20 miles of trails open for hiking and equestrian use year round. The Appalachian Trail passes through town. Saskadena Six Ski Area, ☏ +1 802 457-6661. 9AM-4PM. With easy-riding terrain perfect for families and beginners, Saskadena Six Ski Area welcomes skiers and snowboarders of all abilities to slide down its groomed trails and thaw out beside the indoor/outdoor fireplace at the base of the alpine lodge. Home of the first National Snow Snurfing contest in 1982, Suicide Six was one of the country’s earliest ski resorts to allow the sport that would become snowboarding, and continues to embrace the spirit of winter fun. Their Quad lift, a double chair and a J-bar surface tow service 24 trails ー 30% rated as beginner terrain, 40% as intermediate and 30% as advanced ー with the longest run spanning a distance of 5,280 feet. Rentals, repairs and a cozy base lodge and restaurant are all available just steps from the slopes. $72. Feast and Field Market (Fable Farm), 1544 Royalton Turnpike, Barnard, Vermont. Food: 4:30-7:30 Music: 5:30-8 Campfire Music: 8-9:30. A summer fun, family-friendly, weekly live music showcase, with literal farm-to-table food, in which the food is harvested served and cooked and eaten within less than a mile radius. No dogs or brought-in alcohol. Crowded event with good weather, about 200 parking spots normally, close to full. In Barnard, Vermont, which is neighboring Woodstock. Free, Special Events $20. The Worthy Kitchen is a modern farm-to-table experience, serving classics like chicken wings, loaded nachos, buttermilk fried chicken, and a farm diner burger. With many beers on tap and many craft sodas, the Kitchen is perfect for families or just adults. In addition, the outdoor seating patio is amazing during the summer. Because there is such a welcoming environment, that does mean that there will often be waiting required, in a walk-in situation. (updated Dec 2017)

Worthy Kitchen, 442 Woodstock Road. Normally 4PM-9PM. As well as being a restaurant, mentioned above, the bar at the Worthy is very Worthy of trying. There is something unique about focus on service they present, with knowledgeable bartenders to answer all your questions about the corresponding brewery. (updated Dec 2017)

The Woodstock Inn is a beautiful Rockefeller building that is redolent of a previous era of elegance, throughout its hallways, rooms, and lobby. It also has a golf course, tennis courts, a ski area, and many indoor and outdoor pools, all with shuttle transportation or on site access. A spa and restaurants are located within the building. $300 range a night. From Boston: Take Interstate 93 North to Interstate 89 North into Vermont. In Vermont, take Exit 1. At bottom of ramp turn left on Route 4 West. Travel 10 miles to the center of Woodstock. From New York and Connecticut: Take Interstate 91 to Exit 9 (Hartland/Windsor) in Vermont. Follow the signs for Woodstock and Route 12 North. Take Route 12 approximately 8 miles. Take a left onto Route 4 West (Routes 4 and 12 merge), through Taftsville. Stay on Route 4 West for 3 miles to the center of Woodstock. From Western or Upstate New York state: Take Interstate 87 North (Adirondack Northway) to Exit 20 for Lake George. At bottom of exit, turn left onto Route 9 North. At the first light, turn right onto Route 149 East. Travel 12 miles into Ft. Ann and turn left onto Route 4 East. Travel 12 miles into Whitehall, then bear right on Route 4 East (near the Grand Union). Travel 35-40 miles into Rutland (Vermont). At the end of the four-lane road, turn left on Route 4 East/Route 7 North. Drive about 3 miles, then turn right on Route 4 East. Follow 4 East for 31 miles through Bridgewater into the center of Woodstock. Most points of interest in the village are accessible by moderate walking. The outer parts of town, such as South Woodstock, are only conveniently accessed by car. As an alternate method, one could use a bike to travel these longer distances; however, the terrain has many hills, and a mountain bike should be used to traverse such rugged areas. Bike rentals are available in the village, though biking in the commercial area of the village is discouraged, as the flow of people and cars can be concentrated.
