The location of a 17th-century Seneca town that was destroyed by the French in 1687. Bark Longhouse $3 adults, $2 children. 2 Valentown Museum, 2676 High St (corner of High St and Valentown Rd), ☏ +1 585-924-4170, [email protected]. Jun-Sep Sa noon-4PM and by appt. Built as a shopping center in 1879 to serve a proposed town (Valentown) that was never developed. The building operates as a local history museum containing 19th-century artifacts from Victor and Rochester. $5 adults, $3 seniors/students, children under 5 free. 3 Jeremiah Cronkite House, 1095 Lynaugh Rd. 1847 Federal-style cobblestone home. 4 Cobblestone Railroad Pumphouse, Auburn Trail and Main St, Fishers. A small cobblestone pumphouse built by the Auburn and Rochester Railroad in 1845. 5 Felt Cobblestone General Store, 6452 Victor-Manchester Rd, East Victor. A general store built around 1835. 6 Osborne House, 146 Maple Ave. Italian Villa-style house built in 1855.

Stuart Horse Trials, 1707 Murray Rd. mid-Jul (11-13 Jul 2014, 8AM-4PM). Started as a purely local equestrian event in 1990, the Stuart Horse Trials today attract everyone from local amateurs all the way up to international Olympians. Dressage, cross-country, and show jumping are all contested over the course of the event. New in 2014, they've added some Scottish Highland Games to the last day. Free; parking $10/day or $25 for all 3 days.

1 Chit Chat Cafe, 164 W Main St, ☏ +1 585 742-1780. Tu-F 7AM-1PM, Sa 7AM-11:30AM. Known in some circles as the "Cheers of Victor", the Chit Chat Cafe has been described as "a big family holiday dinner". It's a friendly, cozy, homey place with some decadently comforting menu items. One of their specialties is a peach-stuffed French toast that gets rave reviews.

The food – including steaks – is quite good for a place known mostly as a sports bar. $3 draft/bottle beers, $6 well drinks; entrees $8-21.

Victor is on Interstate 90 (the New York State Thruway), near the eastern terminus of Interstate 490 (an auxiliary freeway that heads into the city of Rochester).
