Traveler Guide to Troy, AL

Troy is the county seat of Pike County in the River Heritage region of Alabama.

Home of Troy University, Troy is not exactly a page-grabber when it comes to exciting lore and history. However, one notable caveat is that the last person to supposedly die in battle during the Civil War did so at the Skirmish of Hobdy's Bridge, about 20 miles east of Troy, and this even after General Lee had surrendered and the war was essentially over.
