Ritzville is a city in the Columbia River Plateau of Washington State.
In the 1960s, Interstate 90 was constructed around the south end of town, replacing and rerouting highway traffic away from downtown. The town's arrested development preserved it and formed the core of the designated Ritzville Historic District in 1990. 1 Ritz Theatre, 107 E Main Ave, ☏ +1 509-659-1950, [email protected]. Opened in 1937, it maintains the original architecture and seating arrangement for 400 patrons. (updated Sep 2025) 2 Ritzville Public Library, 302 W Main Ave, ☏ +1 509-659-1222. One of the oldest continuous operating Carnegie Libraries left. It was built with money from the Carnegie Foundation Grant.
