Point Arena is a city on the coast of Mendocino County in California's North Coast region.
If you go to Point Arena, you will want to see the Point Arena light house. The cost is $7.50 per adult and for the price a local tour guide will provide you with a brief, informative recounting of the history of the light house as well as present you with the opportunity to climb the steps to the top. There is a magnificent view of the Pacific coastline once atop. B Bryan Preserve, 130 Riverside Dr (Off Hwy 1 in Point Arena), ☏ +1 707 882-2297. African hoof stock preserve dedicated to the conservation and breeding of African Antelope and Zebra. Daily late afternoon feeding tours available by reservation only; no drop ins. (Lodging available; see below.) Arena Cove is a pretty area, with rocky beaches and a boat dock.
Arena Theater, 214 Main St (120 miles north of San Francisco, on the coast.), ☏ +1 707 882-3272, fax: +1 707 882-2844, [email protected]. operates every day of the year. Arena Theater is a 1928-vintage vaudeville theater and film palace, restored in 1996 to an Art Deco style, state-of-the-art entertainment venue with generous support from local artisans and financial donations. The anchor of the theater is the Arena Cinema, which shows first run movies. Built next to the burned remains of Scott's Opera House, Arena Theater opened in 1929 as a vaudeville playhouse. In 1930 it was equipped for showing motion pictures., however after many years of service to the community, in 1995 it was condemned for structural shortcomings. The non-profit community group, Arena Renaissance Company, rallied to the cause of earth-quake retrofitting by rewiring and otherwise restoring all aspects of the building to modern standards. In 1997, through the tremendous fund raising efforts and coordination by ARC, our community of builders, organizers, artists, generous financial contributors, and volunteer workers of all skill levels, rebuilt the theater into the extraordinary gem it is today. Mounted on a hardwood floor Arena Theater has 177 fully upholstered and comfy built-in seats with arm rests. With the addition of portable folding seats it can seat 250 people. The first two rows of seats can be removed to enlarge the dance floor as needed. call for showtimes.

Most visitors will come by car, but limited public transportation is available. From the south, Point Arena can be reached from Santa Rosa and points in between by Mendocino Transit Authority route 95. From the north, it can be reached via MTA route 75; route 75 goes south as far as Gualala.
