Traveler Guide to Petersburg, MI
Petersburg is a city in Monroe County.
Petersburg was founded as Summerfield in 1836 by Richard Peters, who sold the land necessary to do that. He was the first postmaster of that place. It later got the name Petersburgh in honor of the founder (and eventually had the letter aitch removed).
