Peabody is a small town that had under 1,000 inhabitants as of 2020, having lost over 400 since 1980, but it punches above its weight in historic buildings from the 19th and early 20th centuries and therefore could be worth your while to stop in if you are in the area.
1 Peabody Downtown Historic District. 42 contributing buildings, including some 19th-century ones. (updated Dec 2025) 2 W.H. Morgan House. In the Downtown Historic District but separately listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Built in 1881. (updated Nov 2025) T.B. Townsend Barn (a few miles east of town). Large limestone barn, constructed in 1887. Visible from the north side of U.S. Route 50, but not open to the public. 3 Peabody City Park (west end of Second St). A park with playground equipment, picnic areas, a swimming pool, football field and a colorful history. It is also where the city hosts its July 4 celebration. (updated Dec 2025) 4 Santa Fe Park (south end of Walnut). Has picnic areas and a gazebo where summer concerts take place. Also hosts a farmer's market every Saturday from 8AM-noon between Memorial Day and Labor Day. (updated Dec 2025)

Serves more than a bar menu, as there is a varied selection of burgers and sandwiches and a fair number of mains including mountain oysters (bull's testicles). They also say they offer a Cajun menu on Wednesdays, and some Southern items like catfish and chicken fried steak are on their regular menu.
