Traveler Guide to Norfolk, CT

Norfolk is a town in the Litchfield Hills of northwestern Connecticut.

There may not be much to see on the village green except for a few buildings, but if you take a walk in the woods, you will hear a lot of cool birds, and if you’re lucky, you might even see one!

If you are in or near Norfolk in the summertime, find out whether any concerts or art exhibitions are taking place at the Yale Summer School. Infinity Hall, Route 44, 20 Greenwoods Road, ☏ +1 860 542-5531, toll-free: +1-866-666-6306, [email protected]. Infinity Hall is the local music club and operates year-round. It also functions as a bistro. Their slogan is "intimate concerts and creative cuisine." The building is historic, having been constructed in 1883. You could also spend your time swimming in Toby Pond, or hiking in the woods, which are full of wildlife. There is a great hiking trail called Haystack Mountain State Park. At the top they have a mini museum with a great view! Campbell Falls State Park is also great to visit! It has a great view of a waterfall!

There are a couple good sandwich places in the heart of Norfolk. There is a nice little park near one of them.

The Manor House Bed and Breakfast, 69 Maple Avenue, toll-free: +1-866-542-5690. Offers 9 rooms for travelers to Norfolk.

US Route 44 is the main road into and through town and the way most people get to Norfolk from Hartford or the turnoff from the main north-south road in the area, US Route 7, in North Canaan. Every other road in Norfolk is to a greater or lesser degree a back road.

The center of town is very small, but to get anywhere else, you will need at least a bicycle.
