Traveler Guide to Honey Brook, PA
Honey Brook is a quaint small town outside of Reading, in south-east Pennsylvania. Noted for its Amish farms, it is culturally part of the Pennsylvania Dutch Country, since it lies adjacent to Lancaster County. But being on the other side of the county line, in the northwest part of Chester County, it is considered to be in the Philadelphia Region.
Population: 1,587 (July, 2008), an increase of 23.3% from the year 2000. Honey Brook was originally called Waynesborough, in 1815, but the name was later changed after it was realised that there was another community of that name.
Honey Brook is surrounded by Amish farms which are filled with culture. Anyone who is not familiar with this culture will have their breath taken away by the beauty and the way the Amish live.
Honey Brook Golf Course. The pride of Honey Brook. It is pleasantly located along the west branch of the Brandywine Creek, surrounded by Honey Brook's unique Amish farms. The course is also imbedded within Honey Brook's beautiful, protected wetlands. It very convenient for players to book tee times online.
Throughout Honey Brook there are an assortment of restaurants. You can get many different types of food, including pizza, Chinese, Italian, even Bar-B-Que, just down Main Street. The Long Way Home Grill & Pub, At the intersection of Route 10 and Route 322 in the middle of Honey Brook. (On the first floor of the Waynebrook Inn building.). A great hot spot for dining. Waynebrook Inn (located above the Bistro On 10.). Established in 1865, and having lasted for over 140 years, the Waynebrook Inn is now a beautifully restored building. It is full of a rich history from the foundation of Honey Brook. A must see for any visitor or passer-by.
