Traveler Guide to Clinton, OK

Clinton is a city of 9,000 people (2010) in the Great Plains Country of Oklahoma. It was platted in like 1902, but what really seemed to make it bloom was when it became a service-oriented community towards Route 66 travel, with cafes, motels, and filling stations to accommodate travelers. Even the King (Elvis Presley) was known to stay here a couple times.

It was founded to preserve the Cheyenne people's way of life. The site has become a regional interpretive center for Cheyenne history and culture. This indoor water park looks pretty enticing from the freeway, but people sometimes complain that the water and ambient air temperature are freezing and detract from their experience.
