Burlington is overrun by sprawl-type restaurant chains, but there are still a few quality places to eat. 1 El Gitano Mexican Restaurant, 624 E. Fairhaven Ave, ☏ +1 360-714-1065. The original location of the local family-run Mexican restaurant chain. They feature fresh ingredients and attention to authenticity from family recipes. 2 Taqueria Los Jarritos, 590 S Burlington Blvd, ☏ +1 360-755-1723. Tacos Guaymas is a locals' favorite featuring a variety of Mexican restaurant plates, and taqueria dishes. The burritos are delicious and huge. 3 Sakura Japanese Steak House, 1830 S Burlington Blvd, ☏ +1 360-588-4821. Japanese steakhouse where the chefs prepare your dish on a hot grill right in front of you. Also features a sushi bar, and many other Japanese food selections.

Bellingham International Airport is the closest airport with commercial service, but has limited connections. From the airport, go south on I-5. Other options include Seattle Tacoma International Airport and Vancouver International Airport, each about 1.5-2 hours away. Burlington lies at the intersection of WA-20 and Interstate 5 (I-5). From Seattle, take I-5 north about 65 miles (a little more than an hour without traffic) to Burlington. From Vancouver take BC-99 and I-5 south for about 80 miles to Burlington. From Eastern Washington, take WA-20, the North Cascades Highway, across from Winthrop. In winter WA-20 is closed and you must take US-2 or I-90. 1 BellAir Airporter, (office & bus station) 844 S Alder (S Alder St & E Sharon Ave), ☏ +1-866-235-5247. Connects Seattle Tacoma International Airport to Bellingham via Seattle, Marysville, Stanwood and Burlington. Passengers transfer in Burlington to go towards Anacortes and La Conner. 2 Greyhound & Flixbus, (bus stop) Skagit Station @ 105 Kincaid Suite #100 (No ticket desk. Travels primarily on Interstate 5 between Seattle, Everett, Mount Vernon, Bellingham and Vancouver BC. Passengers transfer to other buses in Seattle and Vancouver to get to additional destinations. Map marker indicates stop location. Some of the buses continue from Seattle towards Los Angeles via Tacoma, Olympia, Portland, Sacramento, and points in between on I-5.

The transit hub (bus station) in Burlington is the 3 Chuckanut Park & Ride (P&R) on 999N N Burlington Blvd, at the junction of I-5 and State Route (SR) 11, north of town. It is served by: Skagit Transit, ☏ +1 360-757-4433, [email protected]. Operates bus service within Skagit County including within and between Anacortes, Burlington, La Conner, Mount Vernon, and Sedro-Woolley. The buses do not run at night. Also offers connecting service from other counties, including route 80X traveling south from Bellingham and route 90X traveling north from Everett. Routes 80X and 90X stop in Burlington and Mount Vernon. In addition to the 80x and 90x the following are additional routes for local connections from the Chuckanut Park & Ride (P&R): (updated Sep 2022) Bus route 101 serves as a local circulator in Burlington between Chuckanut P&R and Dick's Sporting Goods (2000 S Burlington Blvd) on S Burlington Blvd and Marketplace in the southside of town. Bus route 208 connects Chuckanut Park & Ride in Burlington to Mount Vernon along Burlington Blvd/Riverside Dr. Passengers transfer to Greyhound and Amtrak at Skagit Station. Bus route 301 continues from Burlington on Fairhaven Ave and WA-Hwy 20 to Sedro Woolley. Bus route 513 connects March's Point Park & Ride (P&R) to Chuckanut Park & Ride in Burlington on WA-Hwy 20, Higgins Airport Way, and Peterson. Passengers transfer to the 410 bus in March's P&R to continue into Anacortes and to the Anacortes-San Juan Ferry Terminal.
