Blackstone (Virginia) is a small town in Central Virginia, the largest in Nottoway County.
Blackstone was first settled before the revolutionary war, originally named "Blacks and Whites" for the two local tavern keepers. It was a railroad town in the 1800s, and maintained geographical relevance in the 20th century thanks to neighboring Ft. Barfoot.

Blackstone is located off of Route US-460, with a business route running through the area. It can also be accessed via Route 46, which runs into North Carolina by way of Lawrenceville, and Route 40 which runs from Eastern Virginia, through Blackstone and on past Lunenburg County. VA-40 and VA/NC-46 provide access to and from multiple points in Southside Virginia and points beyond. Blackstone is served by the Blackstone Area Bus System (BABS), which provides limited service to neighboring Crewe and Burkeville, and Dinwiddie County several days per week.
Driving is the best way to get around Blackstone, though the town is served by the Blackstone Area Bus System (BABS). Most of the town has sidewalks, with a dirt path running between uptown and the shopping centers in the south of the town.
